Vera Snyder, 95, of Lake City died July 4, 1988, at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City. Funeral services were held July 6 at Lake City Union Church with the Rev. Stephen Price-Gibson officiating. Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Lake City. Pallbearers were Roger Ringgenberg, Steve Ringgenberg, Rich Baumann, Alan Snyder, Daryl Strickland and Tom Bruening.

Vera Wingerson, daughter of John and Abbie Calhoun Wingerson, was born Dec. 20, 1892, at Lake City. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1912 and Iowa State University in 1916. She taught at Wall Lake and Webster City.

She married Charles Snyder at Lake City in 1919. He died in 1982. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Monday Club and Coterie Club.

Survivors include two sons, Maurice Snyder of Hemet, Calif., and William Snyder of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Phyllis Ringgenberg of Phoenix, Ariz., and Marjorie Baumann of Lake City; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lena Blizzard of Batavia, Ill. Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, Peter and George Wingerson.
