Nelley Bertha Green

Nelley Green, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Green, died at the home of her parents, Wednesday, May 14, 1919. After a short illness of eight days, from pneumonia, at the age of 12 years, 3 months, and 12 days. She was born February 2, 1907, on the farm home where she died. She attended school at District No. 7 and this year was in grade 5. She will be greatly missed by her school mates and young friends.

The funeral was held on Friday afternoon with a short service at the home at 2:30 and at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Farnhamville at 3:00. Rev. Ad Frost having charge of the services and spoke comforting words to the sorrowing parents and brothers and sisters using as his text, John 8:51. A quartette sang two songs, "Near My God to Thee"and "Well Never Say Goodbye in Heaven". The church was draped in purple and gray, and there were many beautiful flowers.

The pall bearers were Misses Clara Schneider, Lillie Strandberg and four sisters, who have the sympathy of the entire community. Interment was in Reading Cemetery.
