Mrs. Julius Widemann
Lived in Calhoun Over Half Century
Funeral services were held Sunday in Manson for Mrs. Julius Widemann, who died at her home south of Manson Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.
Mrs. Widemann had been a resident of that community for more than sixty years. Her death followed a lingering illness.
At the age of four years she came to Pocahontas county from Wisconsin. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Pomeroy. In 1899, she was united in marriage with Julius Widemann of Manson and the couple moved to a farm seven and one-half miles northwest of Manson. They remained in that locality for twenty-six years, moving from there to a farm southeast of Manson where they lived for three years. They then moved into Manson and were residents of the town for nine years, later moving back to the farm.
Mrs. Widemann is survived by her husband, one son, Otto, of Manson; and three daughters, Irene and Venice, and Mrs. William Porth, all of Manson. She is also survived by four grandchildren, one sister, four brothers and four step-brothers. Two sons preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held in the St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. W. Meier officiating. Interment in the Pomeroy cemetery.
