OBITUARY

Geo. L. McCrary was born Feb. 4, 1878, in Keota, Keokuk county, Iowa. He died August 13, 1899, at the home of his brother Dr. D. W. McCrary, at Kamrar, Iowa, aged 21 years, 6 months and 9 days. He was the youngest living child of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. B. McCrary. When Geo. Was two years of age his parents moved to a farm near Lake City, afterwards coming to town to make their home.

In early life George was brought to Christ through the influence of a younger brother, little Guy, who preceded him to the better land where now they have been re-united. During his last illness he came to a full realization of his soul’s need and found peace and rest. His prayers were not only for himself but also for his parents and relatives and for his young men friends. He was stricken with paralysis April 25, 1899, and was a constant sufferer for almost four months, yet during all his illness he never murmured or complained. He leaves a father, mother, two brothers and one sister to mourn his departure. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church of Lake City, Aug., 16, 1899, conducted by the pastor, assisted by Rev. Haelscher, pastor M. E. church at Kamrar, Iowa.
