RUDE
Michael Rude and Paul Rude are recorded in the 1860 Census of Iowa, Butler Co. Beaver Township living on adjoining farms.
Michael - wife was Olena. Children, Amelia age 6, Thela, age 5, Mary age 4 and John L. 5 months.

Paul - wife was Ellen. Two children, Christian age 3 and Anna P. age 1.

Are there any plat maps or property lists that would show the location of their farms?

There is a Rude Cemetery . The information about it states:

>The first ground in Beaver Township to be used for burial purposes was located on Section 25. The first interment was the wife of Michael Rude,
> whose death occurred in the fall of 1854. Evidently she died outside the township, for her death was not the first recorded.

Where can I find more information on this burial? Is there a grave stone? What was her name?

According to his Pension Records (Indian Wars) hMichael married Olina Tolleffson on 11th of December, 1854 in Black Hawk Co. Iowa..

By 1870 Michael had moved to Leavenworth Township, Brown County, IOWA but Paul was still living in Butler Co.

Are there other records such as tax rolls that might give more information?

I would like to contact any descendants of either of these Rude families.
