Hello Jane and Alison
I am a grandson of William Cheney, who was Ellen Glaser McGee's second husband. Therefore, Ellen was my father's stepmother. (My grandmother, Grace Cheney, died in Greene, Iowa in the 1917 flu epidemic.)
My dad's two stepsisters, Ardis and Audrey, were Ellen's daughers with her first husband, Earl McGee. I am curious to know why they split up approx. 1916 and if the two daughters stayed in contact with their father. If you have any information on this, I would be very appreciative as well as very surprised! LOL
BTW, Earl McGee is buried in Los Angeles, but I don't know when he headed out west.
My father, Raymond Cheney, passed away in 1999. He had been a teacher in Troy, Ohio, where I grew up. I now live in suburban Columbus, Ohio.
