looking for my great-grandfather

Hey!
I´M LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON my great-grandfather, who came to USA about 1886-90
I only have his certificate of death from june 29 1890 in Shell Rock Butler county.
I´m very eager to find out his reasons to travel to US, because he had a great farm (321 acres) in southern Denmark ( 1864-1920 Prussia state of Germany).
He was married and left his wife and to children, my grandfather and his sister was only 12 and 16 years old when my great-grandfather died.
I think he was buried on a Shell Rock Cemetery, - Do you know anything about him ??
Looking for any & all info about my great-grandfather.
