Nelson O. Stevens (age 47) is listed in the 1870 Census for Shell Rock , Butler Co, IA with children: Rosetta, Lorenzo, Eldora, Elmer , and Elvira Stevens. His occupation was cooper (barrelmaker). Does anyone know more about his lineage ?
He was born in NY. Was Oliver Stevens (listed in 1917 HS grad) his descendent ?
I am hoping he is a link to the missing "Nelson Stevens" in my line. They were coopers in New Paltz, NY. They were Quakers.
