HAZEL LOLA (BYE) NORDMAN
OBITUARY: Mrs Hazel L. Nordman, 84, of Waverly, died early Friday morning,
Feb. 1, 1980 at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

Hazel L. Bye was born on April 11, 1895 in Horton, Ia., the daughter of Everett
Walter and Jeanette (Nettie) Elizabeth Cooper Bye. On September 17, 1913, she was
united in marriage to William H. Nordman in Clarksville. The couple farmed near
Clarksville until 1932 when they moved into Clarksville. Will died in September, 1962
and Hazel continued living in Clarksville until 1976 when she moved to Waverly. She
became ill last fall, was hospitalized in Waverly and Rochester, Minn., and became a
resident of the Cedar Falls Health Care Center on Dec. 21, 1979.

She was a member of the Community Church in Clarksville and was a member of
the U. & I. Club in Clarksville.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley, Mrs. Byron Bruns of Junction City,
Oregon, Nadine, Mrs. Harry Bate of Jesup, Ia., one sister, Mrs. C.V. Willey of Greene,
Ia., seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, one son, Raymond, one brother, Wesley, one grandson and one
great-grandchild.
