DOORE, PIONEER OF GREENE, DIES

Rites to Be Thursday for Longtime Citizen

GREENE- Funeral services for Raymond L. Doore, who died at his home at Greene Saturday, will be held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. H.F. Meyer officiating.

Raymond L. Doore was born in Pleasant Grove township, Floyd county, Feb. 3, 1873. He was married to Miss Elsie L. Lockwood June 29, 1897. They farmed for several years in Butler county and he clerked in a drug store in Greene after which he was a photographer.

Besides his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Cpl. Dale L. Doore of the army signal corps and Lawrence of Seattle, Wash., 3 brothers, Allen of Marble Rock, Harry C. of Charles City and Ralph of Des Moines; also a sister, Mrs. Ben Hyatt of Des Moines.

Mr. Doore was a member of the local Masonic lodge, serving as secretary this year. He was also a member of the Methodist church and secretary of its Brotherhood.
Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
