Obituary

Mrs. Doris Sutcliffe

Mrs. Walter (Doris) Sutcliffe, 72, died at 12:15 a.m. August 20, at the Waverly hospital.

Doris Sutcliffe was born the daughter of Robert and Myrtle Olive Walsh on March 15, 1904, in rural Butler County. She attended rural schools in Worth and Butler counties. She was married to Walter Sutlcliffe December 24, 1926, in Waverly.

After their marriage, they farmed in the rural Clarksvile area unitl their retirement to Clarksville in 1973.

Mrs. Sutcliffe is survived by her husband Walter, two sons, Robert of Clarksville and Richard of Eldridge; 2 daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Marjorie) Usher of Brainerd, Mn.; and Mrs. Lavern (Joyce) Heyer of Waverly; one brother, Galen Walsh of Charles City; and her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Walsh of Waverly.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday August 23, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, with Rev Llewellyn Walker officiating.

Burial was in Willow Lawn cemetery at Plainfield.
