New Hartford - Mrs. Carrie Marie Perrin, 80, died at 8:40 Tuesday night at her home here. Death was due to ailments incident to old age. She was the widow of the late George E. Perrin who died here November 22, 1944.
She was born Marie Jensen September 29, 1867, at Per Ringstead, Denmark. She came to America with her parents as a child. The family lived in New York State and Perth Amboy, N.J. three years before coming to Iowa.
They located on a farm near the now defunct town of Bradford, site of the famous "Little Brown Church" some two miles east of Nashua, where she grew to young womanhood.
She became the bride of George Elmer Perrin of Floyd, Ia. where the marriage took place Sept. 5, 1888. They farmed near Floyd until 1908 when they moved to Swift County, Minnesota, where they farmed until 1926 when they moved to New Hartford.
Surviving are five sons. They are Carl L. and Ernest Lloyd, both of New Hartford; Elmer L., Walter and Stanley all of Colorado Springs, Colo.
There are fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Perrin was a member of the Danish Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church here at 1:30 p, Friday, conducted by Rev. M. Trevor Baskerville, pastor. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Nashua. The body is at the Dahl Funeral home at Cedar Falls.
