Attends Funeral at Shell Rock
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wiloth went to Shell Rock, Sunday, to attend the funeral of their niece's husband, Mr. Oliver Van Vlack.
Services conducted Sunday at 2:40 p.m. in the Methodist Episcopal church at Shell Rock for Olive J. Van Vlack, whose death Friday from pernicious anemia followed an illness of eigthteen months, for twelve months of which he was bedfast. Rev. A.F. Grant officiated at the funeral.
Mr. Van Vlack was born on March 6, 1875, the son of the late William and Rebecca Van Vlack, and spent his entire lifetime in this vicinity. He was a farmer until 16 years ago and after moving to town was associated with Coddington & Laird, Waverly implement dealer, in their branch here, later becoming a traveling representative of Associated Manufacturers company of Waterloo.
He is survived by his widow and ten children; Harold, Winterset, Ia.; Jeanette, Red, Ethel, Billy, Katherine, Dorothy, Donald, Mary Joan and Carol Lee, all of Shell Rock.
Two brothers, Eugene and Dwight, Shell Rock, also survive.
