Well Known Greene Woman Died Monday After Short Illness

Mrs. George Pringle Funeral Services This Afternoon at Hann Funeral Home. She Taught Here in Early Days

Mrs. George Pringle, age 74, well known Greene woman died at her home here Monday morning about 4:00 o'clock, following an illness of but four days.

Mrs. Pringle was born in Hinsdale, New York in 1865, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson C. Lockwood. She attended the Greene high school and was graduated from Iowa State Teachers college in Cedar Falls.

After teaching in the public schools of Plymouth, Indiana and Greene, she was wed to George Pringle of Greene in 1903.

She was a memeber of the Greene Methodist church and the Ladies Aid Society, besides being active in the Rebekah lodge while her health permitted. She was greatly interested in community affairs.

Besides her husband, there are living three sisters, Mrs. Carrie L. Barr, Edith M. Lockwood and Martha E. Lockwood, all of Des Moines.

There are also two step-children, A.J. Pringle of Greene and Mrs. Walter Behnke of Greene, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ben L. Pringle, a step-son, preceded the mother in death.

Funeral Services are being held this afternoon at the Hann Funeral home at 2:00 o'clock, under the direction of the Rev. S.F. Kenderdine, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Out of town relatives called here by the illness and death of Mrs. Pringle are Mrs. Carrie Barr, Edith and Martha Lockwood, and Mrs. and Mrs. Ben Hyatt of Des Moines. Mrs. Hyatt was Mrs. Pringle's niece.
