Joseph N. Neal, Sr., a pioneer and well-respected resident of this place for a number of years died at his home here last Monday noon. He was one of the pioneer residents of this locality many years ago and has owned a deal of valuable land now tributary to this town. He had arrived at a ripe old age and was ready to go when the end came. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Christian Church and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery. The bereft wife has the sympathy of her many friends here as well as the sons and daughters. The following are the sons and daughters who were present most of the time: J.N. Neal, Jr. of Greene, Barnett Neal of Kansas and T.M. Neal of this place; and mesdames Maud L. Arnold of this place and B.T. Leverich of Reeder, North Dakota.
