Geraldine Jean Day, 82, of Dumont, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility, Hampton.

She was born July 29, 1928, in Dumont, daughter of Ebel and Onita Marie DeArmoun Miller. She married Harold "Daisy" Day on Nov. 20, 1949, in Dumont.

Mrs. Day graduated from Dumont High School, then attended Hamilton Business College, Mason City. She worked at Burrough's Drug Store, Dumont, and at Dumont State Bank. In 1982 she started working at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, where she managed the Dumont chapel. She was member of New Hope Parish of United Methodist Church, Dumont.

Survived by: a daughter, Vicki (Dennis) Seeger of Burnsville, Minn.; a son, Michael of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Lynsay and Bryan Kandee of Little, Colo., McKynsay and Matthew Vanderpan of Grand Forks, N.D., and Jason Day of Crystal Falls, Mich.; and a brother, Gene Miller of Dumont.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, Arnold Miller.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church, Dumont, with burial in Dumont Cemetery.

Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont, with Pastor Mark Young as officiant.

Gerry enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, but her true love in life was taking care of others.
