Alma Caroline Jacobs, 97, of Allison, Iowa, passed away September 11, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison.

She was born on August 18, 1913, in Butler County, near Greene, Iowa. The daughter of Albert and Sophie (Prange) Constien.

She was baptized & confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church at Vilmar (Greene). Alma attended rural school near Greene, Iowa. On February 18, 1936, she was married to Henry Jacobs at the home of her parents. The couple then farmed near Shell Rock for six years and then moved back to the Allison, Clarksville community, where they lived until moving to Allison in December 1970. Alma was a faithful & active member of St. James Lutheran Church. She helped with making quilts & other activities in the Church. On the farm she helped with chores. Alma liked baking cookies and coffee cake. She liked being with family and also getting together with friends.

Alma is survived by her son James (Alice) Jacobs of Allison, daughter Joan (Jim) Lehman of Shell Rock, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, two step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Dora Lubben & Helena DeBower.

Burial will be in the Allison Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or St. James Lutheran Church in Allison.
