Jesse Allan Burris, age 23, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born August 15, 1985, the son of Allan Ray and Carrie Christina Brockway Burris at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from Allison-Bristow High School in 2004.

Krista Renee Burris, age 20, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born June 12, 1988, the daughter of Thomas Ray and Sara Darlene (Kriner) Selvage, Sr. in DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, Pennsylvania. She received her education and graduated Cum Laude from the DuBois High School in DuBois. Krista continued her education and attended the DuBois Business College and received a degree in Legal Assistance. While attending college she was distinguished on the Dean’s list. Following graduation in June of 2008, Jesse, Krista and Adam moved to Parkersburg, Iowa.

Adam Dean Burris, age 1, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the son of Jesse and Krista (Selvage) Burris on May 4, 2008, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, Pennsylvania.

In June of 2008 the family moved to their current home in Parkersburg, Iowa. On March 25, 2009, Jesse Burris was united in marriage with Krista Selvage in Allison, Iowa. Jesse was currently employed at McDonalds in Waverly, Iowa and Krista was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.

Jesse was a member of Allison Bible Church in Allison, Iowa. He loved fishing and hunting when he had the time and was an Iowa Hawkeye fan, converted Pittsburg Steelers’ fan. His son was his pride and joy and his family meant the world to him. He truly loved being with people and made lots of friends. He was always willing to help others in need.

Krista volunteered and enjoyed helping with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She liked to go play bingo, enjoyed watching movies and was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers’ fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her most treasured times were when the three of them were together and especially liked taking walks together.

Adam was a happy and content baby who was crawling, scooting and learning to pull himself up and his laughter was usually followed by his hands waving in the air. He loved to play ball and role it to others and especially liked to get into kitchens and play with the Tupperware and pots and pans. He was a big time daddy’s boy and his mom’s little nickname for him was Bubba. Grandma said, “He’s grandma’s little man and angel” and his aunt liked to call him Adam goober and would always make her laugh. Adam had a curiosity for his parent’s cell phones and would either hang up on you or the phone would be switched to mute by his little fingers.

Jesse, Krista and Adam died Thursday, May 28, 2009, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Parkersburg, Iowa.

Jesse was preceded in death by an infant brother, Adam Dean Burris in 1984, and his maternal grandparents, Clayton and Elaine Brockway.

Krista was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lewis and Virginia Kriner, and her paternal grandfather, Charles Selvage.

Jesse is survived by his father, Allan Burris of Allison, Iowa; his mother, Carrie (Andrew) Esposito of Parkersburg, Iowa; one sister, Amanda Burris of Allison, Iowa; two step-brothers, Anthony (Jessica) Esposito and Andrew (Kris) Esposito, both of Coco, Florida; two step-sisters, Andrea Esposito of Grundy Center, Iowa and Alison Esposito of Greene, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Delbert Burris of Elma, Iowa and Betty Burris of Charles City, Iowa; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Krista is survived by her mother, Sara Selvage of Curwensville, Pennsylvania; her father, Thomas Ray Selvage, Sr. of DuBois, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Thomas Ray Selvage, Jr. and Bryan Selvage, both of Clearfield, Pennsylvania; one sister, Crystal (Michael) Miller and their son, Talon of Junction City, Kansas; paternal grandmother, Vivian Selvage of Big Run, Pennsylvania; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial Services for Jesse, Krista, and Adam Burris of Parkersburg, Iowa will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Allison Bible Church, Allison, Iowa.

Inurnment will be in the Allison Cemetery, Allison, Iowa.

The family will gather one hour before services at the church.
