Breanna M. Christensen, age 14, of rural Wellsburg, was born the daughter of Mory and Kathy (Johnson) Christensen on June 29, 1995, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

Bre was currently attending the Aplington-Parkersburg High School and had completed her freshman year. She was actively involved in T.A.G. (Talented and Gifted) program and enjoyed participating in Mock Trial, Quiz Bowl, Golf and Volleyball.

Bre was a very caring and giving person. She especially enjoyed volunteering for Adopt a Family this past Christmas and helping with AWANAS. Bre enjoyed making her family and friends laugh and had a great sense of humor.

She liked spending time drawing, creating art projects and especially enjoyed art class. Like most young teenagers you would find her usually listening to music or talking and texting with her friends. Bre was known to make wonderful cup cakes that she would surprise her friends with.

Bre loved to go traveling on family vacations, especially to her grandparents in Arizona over spring break. She loved to go hunting with her Dad and fishing with the family.

Bre died Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Grundy Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mary Christensen; maternal great-grandparents, Wally and Clara Johnson; maternal great-grandmother, Jaunita Feske; paternal great-grandfathers, Robert Fuller, Jim Ormord, and Glenn Whitney; paternal great-grandparents, Mouritz and Blanch Christensen.

Bre is survived by her parents, Mory and Kathy Christensen, rural Wellsburg, IA; paternal grandparents, Don and Marilyn Christensen of New Hartford, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Vern and Sharon Johnson of Aplington, IA; paternal great-grandmother, Margaret Ormord of Frederika, IA; and maternal great-grandfather, Phillip Feske of Concord, AR.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland, Iowa, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, and one hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg is in charge of arrangements.
