Earl Willard Price, 97, of Shell Rock, died Saturday, June 5, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly.

He was born on April 11, 1913, in Spink County, S.D., son of Thomas Arthur and Elsie Stephens Price. He married Neoma Luella Burke May 20, 1942, in National City, Calif. She preceded him in death.

He graduated from Tulare High School in 1932. He worked for Civilian Conservation Corps before entering the U.S. Navy in 1936, where he served on the USS Memphis. Mr. Price worked for Solar Aircraft as a machinist in San Diego. In 1942 he reenlisted to the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a machinist for National Steel and the Naval Air Rework facility, both in San Diego. He was a member of the Shell Rock United Methodist Church.

Survived by: two sons, Harry (Roylin) of Odessa, Wash., and Ray (Polly) of Louisville, Miss.; a daughter, Carol (John) Heckman of Shell Rock; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his wife, two brothers, Harold and Charles; a sister, Doris Haag; and a grandson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, both in Shell Rock where the Shell Rock American Legion will give honors. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Shell Rock.

Memorials: may be directed to the family or South Dakota Civil Conservation Corps Museum.
