Herman Antone Schneiderman, age 88, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the son of Reint and Anna (Schroeder) Schneiderman on December 26, 1921, in Hardin County, near Ackley, Iowa. He received his education from a rural country school in Monroe Township, near Parkersburg, Iowa.

On May 10, 1945, Herman was united in marriage with Marlys Graham at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived their entire life in the Parkersburg area. He worked as a machinist for the Chamberlin Corporation in Waterloo, Iowa, for 37 ½ years until he retired in January of 1984. During his early years while working at Chambelin’s Herman also drove milk truck in the mornings for many years. Through the years Herman enjoyed helping his brother’s on their farms.

Herman was a member of the First Congregational Church in Parkersburg where he enjoyed serving as an usher for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking many trips up north to go fishing in Minnesota. Herman loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Herman died Friday, April 23, 2010, at his home in Parkersburg of natural causes.

Herman is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlys Schneiderman on July 23, 1986; one sister, Anna Asche; and five brothers, William, Tommy, Eddie, Reint and John Schneiderman.

Herman is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Wessels of Parkersburg, IA; four sons, Doyle (Sharon) Schneiderman of Parkersburg, IA, Bradley (Susan) Schneiderman of Evansdale, IA, Mark Schneiderman of Parkersburg, IA, and Todd (Brenda) Schneiderman of Aplington, IA; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, Jerry (Heather) Wessels and their children, Sadie and Mason, Lesley (Galon “Buddy”) Vander Holt and their children, Jordie and Jenzen, Shari (Brian) Meyer and their son, Alex, David (Jennifer) Schneiderman and their children, Sydney, Reagan and Brooklyn, Tammy (Jamie) Ruth and their children, Jaden and Logan, Tara (Chad) Adams and their children, Kenidi and Kasidi, and Tanya (Jon) Engel and their daughter, Adalynn, Josh Schneiderman, Cortney Schneiderman and Haley Schneiderman, Katie (Jeremy) Lashbrook and their son, Logan, Sheena (Dennis) Blanchard and their children, Dylan and Devon, and Beau Arends; one sister, Alice Lupkes of Parkersburg, IA; and two brothers, Tony Schneiderman of Monticello, IA, and Bob Schneiderman of Bristow, IA.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at the First Congregational Church, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, (319)346-1534, and one hour before services at the church.
