Roger “Pete” Shultz, 78, of Allison, Iowa, passed away March 21, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison, Iowa.

He was born on March 29, 1931, in Allison, Iowa, to Phillip E. and Leota (Bettesworth) Shultz. Roger graduated from Allison High School. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Ann Ressler on March 29, 1953, in Allison.

Roger served his country during the Korean War as a United States Marine. He was a barber many years and he also sold insurance. Roger was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, the Allison Amvets and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and taking his 1947 Buick Convertible to numerous car shows, parades and other special occasions. Roger’s family was most important to him in his life.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Peg) Shultz of Allison; daughter Karen (Duane) Strempke of West Des Moines; sons Ted (Rita) Shultz of Lake View, Alabama, Tom (Susie) Shultz of Jefferson City, Missouri and David (Sweetie) Shultz of Lawson, Missouri; granddaughter Emily (Tyler) Kamish of Ankeny; grandsons Mark (Shelah) Strempke of Kailua, Hawaii and Billy Shultz of Springfield, Missouri; great grandchildren Connor Kamish and Kinley Strempke; brother Robert (Jean) Shultz and brother-in-law Robert (Edith) Ressler.
