Terence L Carpenter, 58, of Marble Rock died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Nora Springs Care Center.

A Private Family Service is being arranged through Reid’s Funeral Chapel, Greene, Iowa.

Memorials may be addressed to the Terence L. Carpenter Memorial Fund in care of Reid’s Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 219 Greene, IA 50636-0219

Terence Len Carpenter was born May 13, 1951 in Iowa City, a son of Lois Mae Carpenter. He was raised in Greene and graduated from Greene High School in 1969. He then attended welding school at Osceola, Iowa and worked at various manufacturing plants; including DMC in Mason City and G&L Products in Charles City.

On March 28, 1975 Terence married Cindy Johnson in Folkston, Georgia. In 1990 they became foster parents and hosted over 300 foster children over the years. In 2003 due to ill health this came to an end, however he remained in contact with many of the children he fostered.

Terence enjoyed being in the outdoors, camping, fishing and watching stock car races. He also enjoyed watching M*A*S*H and professional wrestling.

Surviving family include his sons: Larry James Fuller, Osceola, Iowa; John Carpenter, Charles City; Jarred (Amanda) Carpenter of Rockford and their sons: Joshua, Ceagen and Cody; Kory Carpenter, and special nephew:
Zachary Johnson; former wife: Cindy Carpenter, Marble Rock; sister:
Teresa (Kenny) Staudt, Marble Rock; brother: Thomas (Sandi) Bouillon, Nora Springs; sisters: Thelma (Steve) Neisen, Mason City; Tammie (Paul) Garber, Nora Springs; Toni Hill, Stewartville, MN; Tina (Howard) Iverson, Charles City; nieces and nephews and all the foster children whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son: Russel and brother: Tim.
