David James Bellows

David James Bellows, age 22, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the son of James Martin and Starre Michelle (Johnson) Bellows on February 21, 1988, in Waterloo, Iowa. When David was in the third grade he moved with his family to Parkersburg where he received his education and graduated from the Aplington-Parkersburg High School in 2006. David moved to Marion when he enrolled at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

David was a member of the Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He liked to give to others and enjoyed helping on a mission trip to Mazatlan where they helped feed the poor children and build churches. He was active yearly in the Summer of Service, where youth from the Midwest would do outreach to the Cedar Valley area and caring projects for communities. Through the years David was active in AWANA’S all throughout school and participated in high school football.

David was known to his family and friends as “Smiley.” He seemed to be always in a good mood and loved to joke around. David was always very close to his Grandmother, Ramona who he loved very much.

David was a member of Pheasants Forever and enjoyed hunting. He loved racing in Figure 8 races where he won many trophies. His pride and joy was his motorcycle that he loved to ride. He was an avid Bronco’s Fan and enjoyed attending many of their games.

David was currently working for his Dad at Star Light Recovery Inc. in Cedar Rapids as a Recovery Agent of automobiles for an investigation company. He often said he enjoyed being a “Repo Man.”

David died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from injuries sustained in a truck accident on Highway 30, near Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

David is survived by his parents, Jim (Andrea) Bellows of Parkersburg, IA and Starre Trapasso of Warrensburg, NY; one brother, Sean Bellows at home; three sisters, Brianna, Korryn and Olyvia Bellows at home; two half sisters, Chiava and Kerri of Warrensburg, NY; his paternal grandparents, Beau and Ramona Bellows of Waterloo, IA; and his maternal grandparents, Sheryll and Pete Boyer of Parkersburg, IA.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Burial will be held at St. Albert’s Cemetery in Lamont, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, and continue for one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family of David.
