SHELL ROCK - Pearl Ethel Stille, 81, of Shell Rock, formerly of Waverly, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Shell Rock Health Care Center of natural causes.

She was born July 20, 1928, in rural Butler County, daughter of Lee and Ethel Ginther Nitcher. She married Lester Stille in 1951 in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Ms. Stille graduated from Waverly High School in 1947, then worked in retail sales at Infelt’s Variety Store, Waverly. She moved to Cedar Rapids where she was employed at J.C. Penney Co. for three years, then moved back to the Waverly area and worked at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community for eight years, then for RADA Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1998.

Survived by: two sons, Tom and Allan, both of Shell Rock; a daughter, Sheila Compton of Apple Valley, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Stille of Shell Rock; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Marsh and Carolyn (Roger) Henninger, both of Waverly; and two brothers, Raymond (Lucille) Nitcher of Parkersburg and Orville (Marlys) Nitcher of Shell Rock.

Prececed in death by: a son, Tim; a brother, Robert Nitcher; and an infant sister, Laura.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with burial in Andrews Cemetery, rural Waverly. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
