Services for Mrs. Kathryn Barton, 90, of Eastern Star Home, Boone, formerly of 904 W. First Street, will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery with burial there. She died at the home Friday morning.
She was born Jan. 12, 1892, in Butler County, daughter of Edward Jenner and Margaret Geyer Cortright. She married H. O. Barton in 1912 at Albert Lea, Minn. She was a deputy Black Hawk County Auditor from 1918 to 1932. She then moved to Iowa City, where she was a house mother for Alpha Tau Omega.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kay B. Kyner of Humeston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Locke Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be given to the Eastern Star Home, Boone.
