New Hartford, Ia. - H. A. Hoffman, Civil War Veteran, died here Wednesday at the age of 85 years, after a long period of failing health.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the home with Rev. W. A. Buell officiating.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters and two sons of a previous marriage: Mrs. Ella Miller, Frank and H. A. Hoffman, all of Waterloo; Mrs. Maude Quinby, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Jessie B(--)son, Rochester, Minn. There are 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
