THE IOWA RECORDER, Greene, Butler County, Iowa, Wednesday, January 15, 1919: "Frank Warner Dead at Cedar Falls. News was received here this morning by Col. Weston that Frank Warner died yesterday at his home in Cedar Falls after several months of failing health. The remains will be brought to Greene tomorrow and interment made in Rose Hill cemetery by the side of his first wife. "He was a veteran of the civil war. His daughter, Mrs. Fay Newburn, resides here. An obituary will be given next week."

Obituary in THE IOWA RECORDER, Greene, Butler County, Iowa, Wednesday, January 22, 1919: "Frank H. Warner. Frank H. Warner was born at Nora, Ill., May 14, 1850, and died at Cedar Falls, January 14, 1919, at the age of 68 years. "He was united in marriage to Mrs. Alyce Wyker of Pecatonica, Ill., March 1, 1870, who departed this life November 23, 1905. "To this union were born 8 children, 2 having preceeded the parents to the better land. Those living are Mrs. Jessie Stoner of Minneapolis, Minn,; Mrs. Hattie Van Horn of Burbank, Calif.; and Mrs. Fay Newburn of this city; Geo. and Austin Warner of Ogden, Utah; and Lucius Warner of Mason City, Iowa. He leaves besides his sorrowing wife, 3 brothers, Geo. Warner of Pipestone, Minn.; and Mahlon and Goodrich Warner of Parkersburg, Ia.; 3 sisters, Mrs Kathryn Dew Hurst of Otica, N.Y.; Miss Effie Warner of Hooker, Okla.; and Mrs. Bessie Mack, Chicago, Ill. He leaves 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. "He was one of the youngest soldiers of the Civil War, being only 14 years old when he enlisted as a drummer boy. "On September 24, 1906, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Hattie Winterburn of this city. They lived in this city for a while after their marriage and later moved to Cedar Falls where he made his home until his passing. He joined the Christian church at Cedar Falls, Ia. soon after his removal to that city and lived an devoted christian life. Mr. Warner was loved by all his relatives and friends and will be greatly missed in the community where he has lived for so many years. "Interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery. "A loving one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled. "A place is vacant in our home, That can never be filled."
