James B. Shaw

The remains of the late James B. Shaw were brought to Greene last Wednesday and the funeral held at the Dunkard church at 2 o'clock, Thursday, Rev. Blough of Waterloo preaching the sermon. The interment was made in Rose Hill.

James B. Shaw was born in Ankenytown, Ohio, Dec. 3, 1857, and died at Dearborn, Mo., Feb. 4, 1902.

He was married in 1878 to Hetty I. Eby to whom two children were born, Gertrude Lillian and Bruce H. Shaw. In 1885 Mrs. Shaw died in San Jacinto, Cal., where the family were residing at the time. Mr. Shaw at once returned to Iowa with his two small children, and has resided in Greene and other points in Iowa ever since until last September, when he went to Dearborn, Mo., in the employ of the Chicago Great Western railroad company. In 1896 he was married to Miss Gertrude Thomas of this city.

He leaves a wife, daughter, son, aged father, one brother and one sister, besides many friends to mourn his loss.

His son, Bruce H. Shaw of Mt. Morris, Ill., and daughter Miss Gertrude Shaw of Omaha, and brother, Bruce A. Shaw of Clinton, were all here to attend the funeral.
