Plainfield—Funeral services were here Tuesday for Plainfield’s oldest resident, Henry Wedeking who died Saturday at Mercy Hospital in Waverly at the age of 90: Born in Husum, Germany, Dec. 15, 1855; baptized in the Lutheran faith Dec. 30, 1855, and confirmed Apr. 10, 1870; married April 16, 1882 to Mary Bucholz; to this union four children were born, all of whom survive. Mrs. Fred Fenneman, Clarksville; Julius, George, and Ewald, all of Plainfield; also leaves seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Louise Poppe and Mrs. Mary Wedeking, both of Clarksville. Mr. Wedeking came to this country from Germany at the age of 18, settling in Butler County and spending his married life on the old Wedeking farm two and one half miles north-west of Plainfield, which is now owned and occupied his son Ewald, until he moved to Plainfield in 1929: served in various township offices and was a director in the Farmers Bank of Plainfield 15 years: In 1924 he returned to Germany for a visit. His parents, one brother and his wife preceded him in death.
