Patrick Parker was born in the Province of Ontario, Canada, March 13, 1839. He was raised to agricultural pursuits. In 1857 he came to the United States, and settled in Grant county, Wisconsin, where he engaged in farming until 1862, when he went to Eau Claire, and engaged in the lumber business until 1870, when he came to Iowa, and settled in Butler county, buying land on section 16, in Washington township. He has improved the land, and built the frame house in which he now lives. He married, July 3, 1869, Miss Carrie Ulrich. They have five children – Flora A., James L., Leo E., Julia B., and Mary E.
