1885 Iowa State Census for Newell Township shows area references such as Willow Grove, Newell Ind, Maple Grove, Pleasant Lake, Prairie Creek, etc. What are these areas? When were they formed, how were they used, and for how long? Is a map showing these districts available? I am writing an important family history in which this information will be most helpful.
