Storm Lake Pilot - November 27, 1884 - Died at her home in Storm Lake, Iowa Wednesday morning, Nov 19, 1884 of consumption. Mrs L.C. Jones, aged 42 years, 5 months, and 14 days.

The deceased was born in Manchester, IL June 5, 1842. She was married to L.C. Jones Feb 19, 1857. After their marriage, Mr and Mrs Jones lived near Rochelle, IL about 20 years, from which place they moved to Storm Lake in 1879. Mrs Jones was a member of the M.E. church for 18 years and passed away in the triumph of the faith.

She was loving wife, a tender and affectionate mother and a true friend. If she had enemies she never found out who they were. During her long and distressing illness she was very patient and seldom gave utterance to a murmur.

Six children survive her and one has passed on before. Her grief stricken husband and children have the deep sympathies of the whole community but their sorrow is tempered with the assurance that she has gone to be with Jesus. Mrs Jones will not only be missed in the home circle but in the community at large.

The funeral services were held at her home Friday Nov 21, conducted by Rev R Smyle, pastor of the M.E. church and were attended by a large concourse of friends. Her remains were interred in the cemetery east of the city.
