Jeff Meusburger, age 56, of Tyler, Minnesota, and formerly of Truesdale, Iowa, died November 9, 2011, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Jeffrey Warren Meusburger was born on November 18, 1954, in Lake City, Iowa, the son of Merle “Mike” and Jessie (Means) Meusburger. As an infant, he was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Lytton, Iowa, and later confirmed at the Methodist Church. He attended school in Truesdale, graduating in 1973. While in school, Jeff joined the Boy Scouts, played football, and participated in wrestling. He was also elected Homecoming King.

On November 22, 1974, Jeff married Terry Lullmann at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. They were blessed with three daughters, Heather, Meg, and Daniell.

A member of the Truesdale Fire Department for fifteen years, Jeff served as the Fire Chief. He enjoyed helping others and helped build the Community Center in Truesdale as well as two houses. He also took pleasure in helping his family restore their houses.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved nature and going camping and hiking at Peterson Park. Jeff enjoyed traveling and had traveled to Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. He loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Terry Meusburger, of Tyler, Minnesota; his daughters: Heather (Curt) Christiansen, of Newell, Iowa, Meg (Mark) Nielsen, of Truesdale, Iowa, and Daniell (Jake) Harder, of rural Truesdale, Iowa; his grandchildren: Kaylea and Hunter Christiansen, Jayden and Preston Harder, and Melea Nielsen; his mother, Jessie Meusburger, of Truesdale, Iowa; his brothers: Allan (Deb) Meusburger, of Laurens, Iowa, and Kelly (Lisa) Meusburger, of Schaller, Iowa; his sister: Joleen (John) Owens, of Aurelia, Iowa; and his sister-in-law, Kelly Jo Meusburger, of Truesdale, Iowa; as well as extended family and many friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Merle “Mike” Meusburger; his grandparents, Warren and Ruby Meusburger and Jabe and Goldie Means; his brother, Micheal J. Meusburger; and his father-in-law, Elmer Lullmann.

Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., November 13, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., November 14, 2011, at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake, Iowa.

Interment: November 14, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Storm Lake, Iowa.
