He was currently serving on the First National Bank of Rembrandt board of directors and the Rembrandt Housing Project board.

He enjoyed his many public service roles, the friends he made in his various involvements, and debating with his friends and family.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille, a brother, Phillip, and several in-laws.

He is survived by a sister, Edith Wittmer of Fairmont, Minnesota; his son Allen Halverson and his wife Carol of Rembrandt; grandsons Derek and Clinton at Iowa State University; and several in-laws.
