Inez Shold - Oct. 13, 1921 - May 1, 2010

Inez Shold, age 88, of Albert City, Iowa, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Inez Irene Harald, the daughter of Ivar and Naomi (Elg) Harald was born in rural Albert City, Iowa, on October 13, 1921. She lived her youth in the Albert City area and received her education there, graduating from the Albert City High School with the Class of 1939. She was baptized and confirmed at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City.

Inez was united in marriage to William Jennings Shold on November 20, 1943, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City and together this couple was blessed with three children: Grant, Becky, and Judy. Inez and Bill raised their family on their farm near Albert City.

Inez was a hairdresser and operated her own beauty shop in Albert City. Later, she had a shop at home on the farm and also was a beautician at the Pleasant View Home. She was very active and enjoyed life keeping busy with quilting, baking, helping at Thresherman’s, and visiting friends and family. Inez was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Albert City, Golden Rule Club, H.O.A. Club, and enjoyed the Christian Women’s Organization.

Family was so very important to Inez and she was proud of her family. She cherished the times she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was never happier than when she had her family all together.

Inez’s memory will always be honored and cherished by her family which include her son, Grant (Donna) Shold of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; her daughter, Becky Dietrich of Omaha, Nebraska; her daughter Judy (Steve) Bowers of Coralville, Iowa; her grandchildren: Dawn (Chad) Walz, Sara Shold, Bradley Shold, Stacia (Chris) Weber, Brian (Jen) Denham, Matthew Denham; her great grandchildren: Ashlie and Ellie Walz, Kyle and Ingrid Weber; her sister, Elaine (Don) Herrig of Albert City, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Viola Erickson of Des Moines, Iowa; other extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and a step-grandson, Ron Bowers.
