Annette Anderson
September 29, 1925 - March 31, 2016

Annette Alice Anderson, age 90, was surrounded by her family as she quietly and peacefully ascended into the presence of her Creator and Redeemer on Thursday, March 31, 2016.

The youngest of eight children, Annette Alice Carlson was born on September 29, 1925, to Henning and Esther Danielson Carlson. She attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Albert City High School in 1942. After receiving her teaching certificate in 1944 from Buena Vista College, she taught at Fairview Country School for two years.

Annette trusted Christ as her personal Savior while attending Bible camp at Okoboji. She was a current member of the Evangelical Free Church in Albert City where she served as Sunday school teacher, choir member, and with the WMS ministry. Glorifying God with her life was of the utmost importance to Annette.

On May 29th, 1946, Annette married Virgil Winten Anderson of Laurel, Nebraska. To their union, five children were born: Douglas Virgil, Janeen Annette, Janet Esther, Donna Lillie, and Dorie LaVonne.

Annette loved to sew and make beautiful flower arrangements, skills which proved a great help for her daughters' and granddaughters' weddings, showers and graduations. In addition, she worked as a bookkeeper for Anderson Auto.

Virgil and Annette loved to go camping. They started camping in a converted school bus, which they shared with Annette’s sister Ila’s family. Then, they had a homemade camper which Virgil and Howard DeYoung built before eventually acquiring a modern camper. Their trips took them to many states. Their favorite vacation destinations were Colorado, South Dakota, and Texas.

Preceding Annette in death were her husband, her parents, and seven siblings, Leonard, Eldon (Pearl), Mabel (Clifford), Morris (Irma), Phoebe (Oscar), Ethel (Clarence), and Ila (Lawrence), and one grandson, Jeremy Douglas Anderson.

Celebrating her homegoing are her children, Doug (Joanne) Anderson, of Albert City, Janeen (Dennis) Hogrefe, of Albert City, Janet Anderson, of Ankeny, Donna (Dusty) Westbrook, of Ankeny, and Dorie (Scott) Lovin, of Albert City; her grandchildren: Deanne Moody, Jill (Andrew) Nelson, Julie (Chad) Bjork, Clint (Greta) Hogrefe, Andrea Hogrefe, Lauren (Thomas) Gideon, Evan Westbrook, Karen (Brandon) Hebron, Colin Westbrook, Alicia (Jake) Heuton, Lucas (Molly) Lovin, Melany (Bryce) Williams, and Zachary (Megan) Lovin; her great grandchildren: Kathelina, Alana, and Isaiah Moody; Jenna, Samuel, Ezekiel, Jada, Anderson, and Jewel Nelson; Mallory, Madelyn, Makayla, and Maxwell Bjork; Esther, Packer and Luther Hogrefe; Wesley, Lillie, Ruby, Liberty, Ellary and Finley Gideon; Boaz Hebron; Chase, Kade and Tyce Heuton; Isla Lovin; Lydia Williams; and Karvir Lovin; her brothers-in-law, Clarence (Ardie) Bloom, and Chuck Binder; and her sister-in-law Bonnie Blomberg; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Albert City. Burial will follow in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City.
