Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Mar 1, 1972 - Florence Mae Bell, youngest daughter of Hans P and Bertha G Halling, was born in Sac county, Iowa Oct 17, 1907. She passed away at the Buena Vista County hospital Feb 21, 1972 after a lengthy illness at the age of 64 years, 4 months, and 4 days.

She received her early education in Sac County. Her parents moved to Storm Lake in 1919 where she graduated from high school in 1925. After serving as an employee of Northwestern Bell Telephone Co for 39 years, she retired on May 27, 1972.

On May 13, 1946 she was united in marriage to Murle G Bell in Spencer. The couple lived at Newell until 1952 when they moved to Storm Lake. She was a member of the United Methodist church in Storm Lake.

Left to mourn her passing are her son, John Fairless Bell, daughter-in-law, Debra Bell of Storm Lake; two brothers, Henry C Halling of Storm Lake, and Ernest J Halling of Milford.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, four sisters, and a brother.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb 23. Interment was in Buena Vista Memorial Park cemetery.
