Lois June Peck
June 26, 1925 - December 20, 2015Lois J. Peck, age 90, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Lois June Schoeder, a daughter of Roy and Opal (Sansen) Schroeder, was born on June 26, 1925, in Aurelia, Iowa. Baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, she attended school in Storm Lake, graduating in 1944.
On August 7, 1947, Lois married Francis Henry Peck at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Subsequently, they were blessed with four children: Tangy, Durree, Angela, and Frank. Lois was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of the Catholic Daughters of America as well.
In her spare time, Lois enjoyed dancing, bowling, reading, playing cards, and listening to music. Most of all, however, she loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Tangy (Joseph) Michnowski, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Angela Tisor, of Ainsworth, Iowa, and Frank Peck, Jr., of Sioux City, Iowa; her grandchildren: Joseph Pytel, of Muscatine, Iowa, Michael (Kalyn) Pytel, of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Angela (Mike) Courtright, of Maple Lake, Minnesota, and Joe (Shannah) Michnowski, of Otsego, Minnesota; her great grandchildren: Carter, Cayden, and Samantha Courtright; Joey and Maycie Michnowski; and Camden, Gracelyn, and Makayla Pytel; and her sister, Evelyn Cook, of Davenport, Iowa; as well as extended family members and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her daughter, Durree Peck; her grandson, Matthew Pytel; and her sister, Aurelia Hitchcock.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place one hour before the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
