December 21, 1943 - May 17, 2015Evelyn K. Flowers, age 71, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Evelyn Kay Harrington, a daughter of Edward and Kathelyn (Deneson) Harrington, was born on December 21, 1943, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. she received her first communion there as well. Growing up, she attended St. Mary’s Schools where she graduated.
In time, Evelyn was blessed with four children: Shane, Mike, Rod, and Jason. She treasured her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A very hard worker, she loved gardening and enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Shane and Rod Brock and Jason Flowers, all of Storm Lake, Iowa, Mike (Kathy) Brock, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and Janet (Scott) Hilbert, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; her grandchildren: Chloe, Codi, Felicity, Joshua, Kayla, and Kinley Brock; Alyssa Eppinga; Evelyn Flowers; Austin Pederson; Samantha (Danny) Siebrecht; and Brandi (Gatluak) Thiyang; her great grandchildren, Wylie Taylor and Brinklee DeWitt; her brothers, Lance Harrington, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Robert (Sharon) Harrington, of Rembrandt, Iowa; and her sister, Nicki (Jim) Harrington-Sheplear, of Storm Lake, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Kathelyn Harrington; her sister, Marida Karr; two brothers, John and Michael Harrington; her sister-in-law, Kathy Harrington; her niece, Michele Harrington; and her nephew, Todd Davis.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 22, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
