Dorothy V. Krohn, age 92, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Dorothy Jacques, a daughter of William Isaac and Mable (Davis) Jacques, was born on June 17, 1922, in Schaller, Iowa. As an infant, she was baptized at the Methodist Church in Schaller where she was later confirmed.

Growing up, Dorothy attended school in Schaller, Nemaha, and Early, Iowa, before graduating from Early High School in 1939. Then, she enrolled at Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, Missouri, graduating from Normal Training in 1941. In time, she continued her education at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1964. She finished her schooling at the University of Colorado in Greeley, Colorado, after earning a Special Education Endorsement. A teacher for over thirty years, she loved her students.

On February 20, 1943, Dorothy married William L. Weatherly in Kirksville, Missouri. Subsequently, they were blessed with three children: Barbara, Marjorie, and Timothy. After Bill passed away, she married George Krohn on July 15, 1985, in Storm Lake, Iowa.

A member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Dorothy took part in the AltoExpress, the church choir, the United Methodist Women, and the church council. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, crocheting, and solving cribbage and crossword puzzles. She loved participating in Community Theatre Productions, watching basketball and baseball games, and having a cup of coffee with friends. Otherwise in her spare time, she enjoyed going to the cabin on East Lake Okoboji. Most of all, however, she treasured her grandchildren and especially loved attending their activities. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
