March 26, 1923 - December 27, 2014

Pauline Margaret Kixmiller Teachout, 91, of Clinton, Iowa, went home to her Savior, on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at her home in Clinton.

A daughter of Paul and Bessie (Putnam) Kixmiller, Pauline was born on March 26, 1923, in Carson, Iowa. A Carson High School graduate, she attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. On August 25, 1941, she married Stanley Williams Teachout in Carson, Iowa; he died on June 22, 2004.

To fulfill her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher, she matriculated at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. There, she met and married her husband, Stanley Williams Teachout. To gain experience with children, she worked at the Clinton Church of Christ with the youth in various capacities. A lifetime member of the Eastern Star, she, actively, participated in the Clinton Church of Christ as well. Except for her love for her church, Pauline always put her family first.

Pauline leaves behind a son, Dale (Karen) Teachout, of Clinton; a daughter, Debbie Teachout, also of Clinton; her grandchildren, Michelle, Cybil, and Nick; her step-grandchildren, Michele (Johnny) Hembrick and James (Katy) Moore; six great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her step-mother, Bertha Kixmiller; her brothers, Ralph, and his wife, Naoma, and Carl, and his wife, Helen; her step-sister, Elenor, and her husband, Roland Frain; her step-brother, LeRoy Albright, and his wife, Vista, and her special sister in Christ, Bernice Long.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 2, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Clinton Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Robert Kixmiller, Nick Teachout, James Moore, James Tate, Rex Brandt, and Don Droste. A luncheon will follow the services. Burial will take place Sunday at the Buena Vista Memorial Park, Storm Lake, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to the Clinton Church of Christ or to Cookson Hills Children’s Home.
