Paul Lee Davis, age 46, of Fort Worth, Texas, and formerly of Marathon, Iowa, died at his home in Fort Worth on May 20, 2013.

Paul Lee Davis, the son of Floyd and Mary (Zubradt) Davis, was born in Spencer, Iowa, on July 11, 1966. He lived his youth in the Marathon area and graduated from Laurens-Marathon High School in 1985. From 1985-1990, he served his country in the United States Army. While in the service, he worked with the electrical portion of guidance missile systems.

Following his honorable discharge, Paul attended Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. While attending Iowa State, he also served in the Army ROTC program as a 1st Lieutenant. After completing his degree, he again served in the Army for an additional three years.

Paul had been residing in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was employed in the cell phone industry. He will be remembered as someone who enjoyed reading. Paul attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids during his youth and when he visited his family.

Paul is survived by his three brothers: Mark (Gina) Davis, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and their two sons: Nicholas and Nathan; Gary, of Marathon, Iowa, and his special friend, Neccy Marabe, of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Todd (Tami) Davis, of Washington, DC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial services took place on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids was in charge of the arrangements.
