James Gordon
February 4, 1951 - November 1, 2004

James LeRoy Gordon, 53, passed away on November 1, 2004, at his home in Holstein.

A son of Donald M. and Jeanette (Coffman) Gordon, Jim was born on February 4, 1951, in Cherokee. He grew up in Linn Grove, graduating from Sioux Valley High School in 1969. He, then, attended Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls for two years where he earned a degree as a mechanic technician. After serving for two years in the military, he received an honorable discharge in 1973.

Jim married Bonita Hallengren on May 14, 1982. Throughout his lifetime, he worked as a mechanic at several area garages. A likable fellow, he will be missed by family and friends.

Jim is survived by his mother, Jeanette Gordon; a brother, Michael, and his wife, Kim; and a nephew, Donald Gordon, all of Spencer; and an aunt, Ruth Jafvert, of Okoboji.

Graveside services for Jim were held on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove, Rev. Roger Maize officiating. Loe-Thomas -Peterson Post 0367 conducted military services.
