James "Jim" Boyce

James (Jim) Boyce, age 69, of Indianola, Iowa, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on January 1, 2013, at his home.
James (Jim) Michael Boyce was born on July 1, 1943, in Storm Lake, the son of Waldo and Grace (Scothorn) Boyce. He attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Storm Lake. He, then, attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
During the Vietnam War, James served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as an Adjudication Officer for the Veterans Administration in Des Moines until his retirement in 2000. During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jon Boyce, of Grimes, Iowa; his daughter, Amy (Matt) Dix, of Urbandale, Iowa; and his grandchildren: Elliott, Henry, and Oscar Dix; as well as extended family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Boyce.
Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m., January 31, 2013, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
