November 11, 1938 - October 17, 2018

Robert Krog Jorgensen, age 79, of Newell, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, in Oakley, Kansas.

A son of Oscar and Elda (Krog) Jorgensen, Robert was born on November 11, 1938, at home in Newell, Iowa. Baptized and later confirmed at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell, he remained a lifelong member. He attended school in Newell, graduating from Newell Providence. On January 11, 1958, he married Beverly Hamann at Nain Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four children: Steven, Shawn, Staci, and Sian. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends. He, also, enjoyed nature, outdoor activities, and traveling the country.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Steven C. Jorgensen, of Newell, Iowa, Shawn D. Jorgensen, of Aviston, Illinois, Staci (Kirk) Kampwerth, of Highland, Illinois, and Sian (Kevin) Butler, of Hudson, Iowa; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren: Ryan (Kristine) Jorgensen with Carter, Addelynn, and Chase, all of Highland, Illinois; Justin (Jessica) Jorgensen with Gavin, Alexis, and August, all of Eglin AFB, Florida; Jason (Chelsie) Jorgensen with Brynnlee and Brecklyn, all of Highland, Illinois; Meghan Jorgensen, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Shane Lyman with Matthew, CharleeJo, and Beau, all of Troy, Illinois; Shanda Lyman (Jerry Gogolowski), with Kurt, all of Meadowbrook, Illinois; Julia Butler and Aden, of New Hartford, Iowa; and Brittany Butler, of Parkersburg, Iowa; his sister, Janene “Tootie” (Larry) Grote; his brothers, Keith (Kathy) Jorgensen and Ronald (Molly) Jorgensen; his sister-in-law, Colleen (Tom) Wall, of Waterloo, Iowa; and his brother-in-law, Dean (Linda) Garner; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jorgensen; his parents, Oscar and Elda Jorgensen; hia parents-in-law, Orval and Macyl Hamann; his brother-in-law, Kenneth (Maureen) Hamann; and his sister-in-law, Kristine Garner.

Memorials may be made to Nain Lutheran Church, the TLC Animal Shelter or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. Burial will follow in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
