Bonita K. Gordon, age 66, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018, at her home in Storm Lake.

Bonita Gordon was born on June 14, 1951, in Ida Grove to David and Rita (Ehrig) Skou. Baptized that same year at Our Lady of Council Catholic Church in Holstein and confirmed there in 1965, she attended Galva High School, graduating in 1969. Next, she furthered her education at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake where she studied Child Psychology. A homemaker, she, also, worked as a senior land agent until she retired in 2015.

In her spare time, Bonita enjoyed reading, playing iPad games, and travelling. An avid Denver Broncos fan as well as an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, she followed their games religiously. In addition, she especially loved to visit with her friends. Without a doubt, she will be, deeply, missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Kenneth Hallengren, of Milford, Iowa, and Edward Hallengren, of Johnston, Iowa; her brothers, David (Patti) Skou, of Aurelia, Iowa, and Donnie Skou, of Marathon, Iowa; her sister, Diana (Richard) Otto, of Aurelia, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Haley and Hunter Hallengren, of Milford, Iowa; and Lily Hallengren, of Johnston, Iowa; as well as extended family members and friends.

Bonita was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rita Skou; and her sisters, Bonnie Hintz and Betty Nafe.

A Time of Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
