April 19, 1931 - September 19, 2017

Edward George Spooner, age 86, of Aurelia, Iowa, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at his home.

A son of Ernest and Florence (Petty) Spooner, Edward was born on April 19, 1931, in Storm Lake, Iowa. In his youth, he, also, attended school in Storm Lake. On March 29, 1950, he married Marilyn Elizabeth Fitchett. Subsequently, they were blessed with six children: Charles Leslie, Bonnie Jo, James Edward, Robert John, Lori Ann, and William Thomas. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, gardening, camping, and fishing. He will be, deeply, missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-seven years, Marilyn Spooner, of Aurelia, Iowa; his children: Charles (Kathy) Spooner, of Firestone, Colorado, Bonnie (David) Conley, of Aurelia, Iowa, James (Betty) Spooner, of Odebolt, Iowa, Robert (Alice) Spooner, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Lori Ann White, of Aurora, Missouri, and William (Margaret) Spooner, of Celestine, Indiana; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; and his sister, Phyllis Toiberg; as well as extended family members and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Floyd Spooner and Frank Spooner; and his sisters, Bernadette Guynn, Dorothy Miller, Sylvia Neilson, and Mavis Hoch.

A Celebration of Life & Love will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
