Scott A. Jackson, age 54, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on April 7, 2017, in Albert Lea.

A son of Lyle and Barbara (Hegna) Jackson, Scott was born on October 6, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Baptized in Cedar Rapids and later confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, he attended grade school at South School in Storm Lake and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1981. He, then, continued his educated at Iowa State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree.

For many years, Scott worked as a computer programmer. Apart from his career, he enjoyed fishing, writing, and collecting DVDs. Most of all, however, he loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Lyle M. and Barbara (Hegna) Jackson; and his brothers, Mark A. Jackson, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Brian (Wendy) Jackson, of Sioux City, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews; extended family members, and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leonard and Ida Jackson and Art and Inez Hegna.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church. The family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org . The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is overseeing the arrangements.
