Sherry Ann Courtright, a daughter of Floyd and Ruby (Thompson) Courtright, was born on April 20, 1954, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She attended school in Storm Lake, graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1972. She, then, continued her education at Buena Vista University where she earned a degree in Criminology and Sociology in 1976. On May 2, 1981, she married William “Bill” Zinn in Spencer, Iowa. Always willing to share her musical talents with others throughout her life, Sherry loved playing the piano, accompanying the middle school choirs, and playing percussion for the Spencer Municipal Band. In addition, as a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer, she accompanied the choir for over thirty years.

Among other pastimes, Sherry, very much, enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking with her children, and watching NCIS and Blue Bloods. Most of all, however, she loved her role as a wife and mother. All those who knew and loved her will, long, remember her selfless nature and kind heart.

Those left to cherish her memory include Bill Zinn, of Spencer, Iowa, her husband of thirty-five years; her children: Andrew Zinn, of Ida Grove, Iowa, Hanna Zinn, of Spencer, Iowa, and Andrew (Rachel) Wade, and their children, Ethan and Hannah, of Perth, Australia; and her sister, Sue (Wayne) Prunty, of Cherokee, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces, grand nephews, extended family members, and friends. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruby Courtright.
